This brochure on the Villa Hardenberg in Baden-Baden was produced as part of the EnVisite! seminar of the Institute for Architectural Theory at KIT.
The task of the seminar was to create an architectural guide for the city of Baden-Baden.
The Villa Hardenberg was a private commission to the architect Egon Eiermann. Eiermann was very concerned with the external impact and presentation of his work. He also saw himself as a discreet guardian of his clients’ privacy. A short essay and later photos from the Villa Hardenberg in this booklet show the extent to which his architectural views, but also his teaching activities, collided with the sensibilities of the residents and their tastes. The pictures in the booklet are property of Bernd Seeland.
